They need to make a decision. They need to own it, right? Like, I selected the stack. You didn't tell me to use the stack. I selected the stack. And therefore, it's also my fault. Also my triumph, right, if it works great. If it doesn't work, you know, I need to take into account what I could do to improve the whole thing.

I think one factor is that these are first-year students, and that's why a slightly more hand-holding approach was chosen.

The main question I have, is how students use gen AI, how we can defend against that or embrace it. I don't have an answer to that yet.

When I see what the TAs do, the feedback they give... Well, I'm not always impressed, even though I emphasise it every year.

Of course, the students are aware of the rubric. At least, it has been communicated with them.

But I think a very large proportion of the students do not really give it much thought.
